Virtual Nonprofit Fundraiser - Marketing Consultant Case Study

I was Executive Producer, Producer, Marketing Lead for The National Reuse Awards, or “The Reusies.” The Reusies is the first-ever virtual awards show and nonprofit fundraiser for the reuse movement. That’s the environmental campaign to create a world with less plastic pollution and waste in our oceans and communities. The Reusies was presented by nonprofit Upstream, a non-profit sparking innovative solutions to plastic pollution, and environmental investor Closed Loop Partners.

I authored the awards show script.  I booked all talent for the awards show, including show host, award presenters and 2 special guest performances.  Directed pre-production of pre-taped video content, including awards show graphical intro and musical performances.  Designed a customized, Zoom “party” for attendees with private VIP rooms and gaming.  Coordinated all production efforts between web development agency, live production crew, PR and the Upstream nonprofit team.  Pitched and produced sales materials to help nonprofit raise money.

More than 400 investors, policymakers and nonprofit leaders attended the virtual event. The audience enjoyed a panel discussion among zero-waste experts. They also participated in live gaming and digital giveaways, private chat rooms and speed networking. Hosted by TV Personality Danni Washington, Web Designer Najua Ward.

Hosted by Science Communicator, TV personality and melanin-ated mermaid Danni Washington featuring panelists Matt Prindiville, CEO of Upstream, Bridget Croke, Managing Director at Closed Loop Partners, viral artist Ben Von Wong and Fast Company’s Liz Segran.

The awards show also featured musical performances by Michael Franti and Kori Withers.
